2nd/3rd November. Wait it's late autumn - A dance event in late autumn? Yes. Didn't get enough Yosakoi action in August? Want to be reminded on summer vibes before winter strikes? Omotesando Super Yosakoi and Tokyo Yosakoi have been too crowded to really enjoy and get the best perspectives on the groups? Give Odaiba's Dream Yosacoi a try!

It is less crowded but still impressive with respect to number of groups and dancers and a very different event in the autumn/ winter event schedule.

It is not only held on Odaiba but in various spots in town, also featuring Tokyo station as a background on the strip between Marunouchi and Shin-Marunouchi building. Still the event space reserved for on Odaiba seems to suit best the needs for such an event I'd say.

For detailed info where it is held besides Odaiba see their homepage. From there some facts and figures:

"Featuring around 6,000 dancers in about 70 teams, and watched by some 950,000 spectators, it is one of the largest and highest-quality festivals held in Tokyo. Japanese dance forms typically preserve what has been handed down, but the yosakoi can be described as a tradition that changes constantly over time, incorporating fashion, design, and dance styles of the era. Also unique is that each team rearranges the traditional song “Yosakoi Naruko Odori” as well as local folk songs and lore in rock and samba styles, and is free to create its own dance steps, hairstyle, and costume. Perhaps it’s this flexibility that inspires the sensitivities of the dancers and appeals to the viewers.
