It's convienient to reach from Tokyo, it offers splendid views on Mt Fuji and it's more a walk than a hike, though in nature. Plus: It is (at Yamakita station) a nice sakura spot. Plus: It is a nice spot for Kouyou - autum leaves. I had been there mid march, i.e. too early for the sakura matsuri (cancelled 2020 anyway due to corona but normally it features a yosakoi, a light up and quite an extensive programme worth watching) and can judge for kouyou only from google and the landscape I saw in spring. Cause the mountain peak features a wide area without trees it's such an exceptional spot to look around on only 750m of elevation.

Because of the Yamakita machi Sakura Matsuri and because of being suspected to be good Kouyou spot, I link this for various categories.
Location: Take a train to Yaga station (about 2h from central Tokyo). Then follow the signs to Onoyama and hike up. You'll have best views of Mt Fuji basically all along the way. Then down to Yamakita station. There seems to be a more natural like trail but I didnt find it. The narrow road down for most of the time does not have a single car driving on it, so it's okay.
