Same area as Kukiyama and in case Fuji-san isn't shy great views on Fujisan from the top. View on the valley is nicer from Kukiyama though (well not from the peak but from various spots on the way up). Still it's a nice spot to hike up. Beware of the way back to Otsuki station- It's a long way and there will be several ups and downs adding to some hundred meters of elevation. It’s worth taking the hill trail back to Otsuki though. Again here and there some nice views. The trail seems actually also perfect for winter though I did it in May. Too much lush green blocking the views.

Even on a not so perfect Saturday in May, where you probably could't see Fujisan from many otherwise good spots, Kukiyama is close enough go get a view and at the same point much easier to reach that other mountainspots down the valley. The beauty of this spot is actually not Fujisan (sorry) but the lush green rocks seemingly fallen in front of view right in the valley or put the other way around: the valley that strechtes and seemingly flows like a river along the rocks towards Fujisan.
Location: Start is at Hatsukari station. The way up is straight forward with several well signed options. From the top a path leads to Otsuki station which I would recommend as there are more trains from Otsuki than from Hatsukari. And dont start in Otsuki because this way ob would be very long and boring. While from Hatsukari it's steeper but shorter
