Atami Baien Autumn Lightup

Late November/ Early December. The beautiful Plum Garden in Atami is also worth a visit for autumnleaves not just for Plum blossom and (early) sakura pointed out here. The lightup is maybe only so so but the garden itself has quite something to offer when it comes to the views on leaves due to its many bridges and the fact that it's located at a hillside.

Atami itself is also worth visiting for it's very own flair.

Location: Atami Station is just a 1:30 directly connected train ride from Shinbashi Station in Tokyo. By Shinkansen it's even faster but double price. The harbour, which is worth a visit, is about 10min on foot from station. Try to be not too late in the plum garden as it is placed in a valley where sun will be gone by 2:30pm in winter and the colours are much nicer with sun. On the other hand the lightup starts from 16:30 so there is a trade-off here.
