8th + 20th Nov. (2019) Tori no ichi is a big thing in November and one of my favourite matsuris - though incredibly crowded. It will be held at two or three days in November (depending on the year) at various shrines. In Tokyo the largest events take place at Hanazono Shrine in Shinjuku and Otori Shrine, Asakusa. In case you can stand the crowds be prepared for a very japanese experience and pray for success in business and then grab some food. Enjoy the colours!

Personally I'd advise to go to Otori Shrine first. It is a more widespread area with a lot of food stands so you can enjoy the action also outisde the shrine. While also true for Shinjuku, the line of waiting people strechtes around the block and makes it no fun to have a stroll along the food stands. More information on what it's all about can be found here.
