From mid November till end of Feburary there is typically a very clear air which allows good sight to shy Fujisan. Though also visible from various spots from Tokyo, why not using the perfect weather for a short hike? Chureito Pagoda is one of the most famous spots to see Fujisan and probably most famous at sakura time. But hey, why not visiting on a clear winter day?

In case it is not too cold you can also hike up the hill behind the pagoda to get another perspective on Fujisan. It is not really a hike but for half an hour somewhat steep. Still I would suggest doing it as the trip from Tokyo to see only the pagoda is bit too much.

Location: Shimoyoshida Stattion then follow the signs to the Pagoda or follow the crowds (well in winter not that crowded). It is still a 2h trip one way from Shinjuku.
