Tsukiji Hongaji BonOdori築地本願寺盆踊り

7/31st - 8/3rd The temple near (former) Tsukiji fishmarket hosts a bon odori for four days around the beginning of August. Enjoy the food stands and the action. As it is pretty competitive to get a seat at one of the tables (some of which are reserved anyway) be early. The festival starts at 7pm and runs to 9pm (as always in Japan 9pm means 9pm not 9:15) with the exception of Saturday where it's 6pm to 8:30 pm.
