Mid of August 16th-18th. A nice not overly crowded (but still) matsuri showing huge paper-maché floats being pushed through the streets. Not as huge as the original Nebuta Matsuri in Aomori, but it's around the corner and definitely worth a visit to enjoy some matsuri food - focussing on northern Japan's food specialities, hang out and grab a beer on a hot summer evening. Start ist around 6pm but the real action starts after sunset, parade starts at 7.

Location: Get off at Nishi-Kunitachi Station (not Tachikawa) and then head towards north-east.
