Higanbana - Spider Lilies

Around Autumn Equinox (23rd Sept). Not as well known as other flowers and difficult to time but beautiful. A countryside visit to see Higanbana is a nice way to welcome autumn. Beside the major spot in Saitama - the Konchakuda Higanbana fields - Sokoin Temple in Matsudo are two easy accessible spots. The latter is no really big deal though. Check instagram before you go as they bloom only a very short time.

Still not full bloom on 28th of September in 2019 but still.

Location: Sokoin Temple is easy to reach by a 40 min Chiyoda Line ride bound for Abiko which changes to a local train after Ayase. Change in Matsudo to Tokiwadaira Station and then walk around 10min.

The far more impressive venue is in Kinchakuda, short walk from Koma station in Manjushage Park at the river. If you're lucky Cosmos Flowers will also already bloom, though they are a bit later than Spider Lilies (typically).
